Triggered by the financial crisis of 2008, in 2010 Droog Design began purchasing items from liquidation auctions - unused items that are functional yet for whatever reason left behind. Ranging from handkerchiefs to dog baskets and ceramic cups, over 5000 items were reclaimed into a collection of nineteen new products. This project Saved by Droog was exhibited at the Salone del Mobile in Milan at 2010. Remy&Veenhuizen made several glass arrangements with in total 168 plates of glass, 100 candy pots and 40 glass vases. The new owners were photographed with their purchase.
